I’m currently in Pennsylvania. At a cabin nestled in the beautiful forests of southern Pennsylvania. As I made my coffee this morning, I caught this deer in the backyard.

So here’s the thing. I’m sort of a homebody. I mean, in the way that a homebody likes to travel the world, but I when I’m home, I’m home. I don’t do a lot of book clubs or signings or things like that. Mostly because I’m really busy, but also, it required putting on makeup.
I’m still working on a new book, so this is just a quick Friday note, with a few happy things.

Okay, so. Last weekend, I did a thing. A thing I’ve been waiting to do for a long time.
No, don’t get excited. I didn’t purchase a sailboat and traverse the world. (Not that thing, the other thing!)
I stained my office door.
What,
I know we didn’t chat last week. I blame my daughter, who went on vacation, and my current story which sucked me in and wouldn’t let me go. (in a good way. )
She did, however, send me this darling pix of JoJo.
That right there is a girl who knows exactly what she loves,
I dunno about you, but I’m ready for the weekend.
I spend the first week of every month doing all my non-writing work – all my accounting, analyzing and creating advertising, line edits, reading books for editorial feedback (for Sunrise Publishing), sometimes reading books for endorsement, and organizing tasks for the rest of the month.
So…It’s a good day to celebrate!
Why are we celebrating?
Because Scent of Hope is OUT. Right now. Book 2 of the Call of the Wild series.
Two broken hearts. One deadly mission. And one very good avalanche dog named Orlando standing between them and a killer.

I’m soooo ready for this weekend, having edited about 200 pages since Tuesday.
My brain is mush. (but in a good way. A good mushy way where it’s full of story and fun dialogue and endearing characters, and a high stakes global plot…)
So, I’m looking forward to a relaxing weekend.
