Why I’m chilly…

Rel Mollet Books, Family

Sorry I’ve been so quiet here!

I’ve been hard at work writing a brand-new series! And it’s sort of consumed me. (This is not an inaccurate picture of me right now) 😊

Yes, I live in Florida. Yes, it’s sunny outside. And yes, I’m under a blankie with my coffee, because in my head I’m in Edinburgh, saving a character from certain doom. And it’s chilly there.

Speaking of chilly…

It’s also cold in Alaska, the setting of my next book! I’m SO excited that Trail of the Brave comes out in ONE WEEK! Whoot!!

This is the final book in the Call of the Wild series, and I have to tell you, there’s nothing quite like finishing a series. You spend years with these people, their dogs, their wounds, their terrible decisions (you’re welcome), and then you get to bring it all home. This last book does exactly that. It was so fun to write. I got to bring back some old favorite characters and introduce a few new ones. (Keep an eye on people like Winter and Topher and the Matthews family… they may have adventures of their own coming. Just saying.)

Here’s the scoop:

A father who trusts no one, a woman who’s stopped trusting herself, and a dog everyone has written off. They’re a seven-year-old girl’s only hope.
When legendary Iditarod musher Wilder Frost collapses on her porch, veterinarian Stormi White must face her self-doubt. She’s spent years trying to be everything to everyone, but she’s certain she’s failed. Even her own dog, Rome, a former K9 cadaver dog who lost his scent, is just one more thing she couldn’t fix. Or so she believes.
Wilder has one rule: Keep everyone at arm’s length. It’s how he’s kept his seven-year-old daughter, Luna, alive while staying one step ahead of the men who murdered his wife. But when his past finally catches up and Luna vanishes into the frozen wilderness, Wilder is forced to put her life in the hands of a woman he barely knows, and a dog no one believes in.
As a killer closes in and a storm descends, Stormi, Wilder, and Rome race across treacherous Alaskan terrain in a desperate search for Luna. But the deadliest distance isn’t measured in miles. It’s the space between their hearts. What if the only way to save Luna is to risk the one thing they swore they’d never lose: each other?

In other news…

Not much else to report, except, well, we went to a birthday party this weekend. My granddaughter turned ONE. One! How does that even happen? And I have to say, my daughter-in-law outdid herself on the decor. I’m gonna say my kids were lucky if they got a cake.

Okay, back to Edinburgh. Someone needs saving, and my coffee’s getting cold.

More on Friday!

Blessings,

P.S. Oh! Over at Sunrise, I recently was able to republish a book from one of my good writing friends, and a fabulous writer—Tracey Bateman! She has a 2 part Thanksgiving/Christmas romantic suspense out (Book 1 drops today!) for the season, and I think you’ll love them. 😊

Check out A Thanksgiving Reckoning here!

He didn’t murder his wife. Proving it could get them both killed.

Justin Kramer knows two things for certain: he didn’t murder his wife—and the detectives don’t believe him.

Four months after Amelia’s body was found on his living room floor, Justin is still the only suspect the Kansas City police care to name. His alibi has evaporated, his witnesses can’t be found, and someone has gone to careful lengths to make sure the evidence points straight at him. All he has left is his faith, his two young sons, and a Thanksgiving he’s determined to give them far from the house where their mother died.

Deputy Keri Mahoney has every reason to keep her distance from a man everyone assumes is guilty—and one reason she can’t: fifteen years ago, he was the boy she was going to marry. The more she looks at Justin’s case, the less the story holds together, and the more she believes him. But as she digs toward the truth, the real killer takes notice. Now clearing Justin’s name could cost Keri far more than her badge.

With the holidays closing in and a murderer still free, Keri and Justin must trust God—and each other—before the truth gets buried for good.
