Mary,
the mother of Jesus is one of the most well-known women of all time.
She was also a teen mom facing an unplanned pregnancy. This Christmas
we will see evidence of Mary's story all around us. And as you hear it
through Christmas songs and Christmas shows think of three things:

I’m just sayin’, it’s not fair.
I’m going to lodge a formal complaint with the bureau of weather management in Heaven.
I think there’s been a misunderstanding.
See, I live in Grand Marais, 30 miles from the Canadian border, next to the coldest lake in America.

BAR QUEEN CARAMEL DREAMS
Mix the following:
1 1/2 cup flour
1 1/2 cup oatmeal
1 1/4 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp salt
1 1/4 cup melted butter
Mix and press 3/4 of mixture into 9 x 13 pan.
Seriously. My husband is a fabulous cook, and it’s our habit for him to take over on the weekends to make such things as Tikka Marsala Chicken, or Pad Thai, or Mongolian Hot Pot.
Only problem….I often travel on the weekends at speaking events. Which I love.
But I love his cooking,
So, we live in the woods. We have hunters. I know this from the orange people walking up and down our roads toting rifles. And the shots cracking the air early in the morning.
And my pet needs that because the deer skins my dog brings home and attempts to gnaw on in the front yard (Ew – thank you so much,
