So. The other day I got Wordle in two.
If you don’t know what I’m talking about, all I can say is it’s okay. You don’t have to be obsessed like I am, trying to figure out how to fill in the blanks every night.
But in case you care…here it is.

We survived the north.
Had an epic Christmas (my excellent Substitute-Susie did a great job showcasing pictures last week. Oh, did you miss it? Check out that newsletter here!)
And now we’re baaaaack!
This is the sunset that greeted us as we headed back to Florida.
Surprise! It’s me!
Right now, Susie is currently packing up her suburban for the long trek back to Florida, so I’m stepping in for the day. Well…me and the new friend Santa dropped off for me.
Meet Gerald.
Gerald is my judgement turkey. He sees everything, and he does not approve.
The countdown has begun.
On Friday…they arrive.
These people.
I CANNOT WAIT.
Because Saturday the Epic Tree Hunt commences.
Every year we trek out into the forest (or nearby tree farm) and cut down the biggest tree in the woods (or one that fits in our house) and commence the Tree Decorating Wars where everyone vies for the perfect branch.
We made the Big Trek up north this week. 3 days in the car and Hubs and I engaged in ALL the epic discussions that needed addressing.
We managed to solve all the world’s problems, finish our Christmas shopping, planned the 2025 house projects and engaged in a spirited discussion on what kind of car we should buy,
So, my sweet son Pete has the WORST luck with cars. There’s a legendary story in our family of Pete and the Cursed Isuzu Rodeo. It broke down during the height of winter (read: -15 in Minnesota!), and Peter had to sleep in it for two nights before we could get help to him.
Yes.
Merry Christmas.
This is the month of FREE GIVEAWAYS (and if you didn’t get my email on SUNDAY, then click HERE for that list!)
But I wanted to shout out THIS awesome “12 days of Christmas” Giveaway from some of my favorite authors (and yes, I’m on there too,
How was your Thanksgiving? Hubs and I had a great day with our Florida kiddos, enjoying the sunshine and eating turkey.
And then, it was December.
I know – it’s not Tuesday, but it’s crazy sales week, and I have FREE BOOKS for you!
Can you believe the holiday season is upon us once again?
Happy Thanksgiving!
Tomorrow is the American day of gratefulness and I just wanted to say…thank you.
Every year, we have a little tradition around the table (as do many!) saying what we’re grateful for. I’m super grateful for my family, of course, for health and financial provision, and all the ideas and books God gave me to write this year.
So, I went out to breakfast today with my writing partner, the amazing Rachel Hauck. We’ve been trying to get together for three weeks since my return to Florida. (okay, that sounds a lot more epic than intended. it wasn’t like the return of the King or anything. It was just a small trip to hang out with my son and his family during thanksgiving).
