I’d be scared, too!

Susan Family, Just for Fun, Religion

My poor granddaughter had a close encounter with a very large bunny at daycare this week.

Because we’re a super compassionate family, we leaped on this picture like dogs to a bone. Had a family caption contest.

But seriously, imagine a GIANT RABBIT 4x your body picking you up. We’ve already started Bubby’s counseling fund.

Thankfully, this amazing, beautiful, grace-soaked weekend is NOT about a giant bunny.

If it was, yeah, that would be terrifying.

It should be no secret to you, my reader friends, that I’m a Christian. What you MIGHT not know is that I often use hymns as the backbone of my stories. My Summer of Fire/Montana Fire series was based on Great is Thy Faithfulness. And my Montana Rescue series uses the verses of Amazing Grace as the themes of each story.

My next story, I’ll Be There, is based on the profound words of Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing (if you’re interested, I love this version: https://youtu.be/oUHcofV1tLo)

But hear these amazing words:

O to grace how great a debtor
Daily I’m constrained to be

Let that grace now, like a fetter
Bind my wandering heart to Thee
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it
Prone to leave the God I love

Here’s my heart, O take and seal it
Seal it for Thy courts above

I don’t know about you, but for me (and even, well, Paul (ahem, Romans 7:21-25), I know my heart is prone to wander. Without the grace of God, I’m painfully aware of a different life I might have led. The troubles into which I might have fallen. And yes, in this life I’ve had trouble–we all have.

But, I am daily moved, and profoundly undone by the daily grace of God, the incredible mercy, gifted to us by our Savior, that unchanging LOVE of God.

Streams of mercy, never ceasing
Call for songs of loudest praise

RIGHT?

Praise the mount, I’m fixed upon it
Mount of Thy unchanging love

This weekend, your Good, Good Father offers you a new perspective. Whether you have a wandering heart, or one that is fixed upon the unbelievable truth of salvation, you are wanted. You are pursued. You are worth dying for.

You are loved.

Have a Beautiful Easter weekend, friend.

With love,

Susie May

P.S. if you’ve ever thought of writing a romance, I’m having a romance seminar NEXT weekend, online. You can find out more, here.
