We returned home from our epic five day drive from Florida yesterday. Twenty-six hours. TWENTY audio book chapters of Brandon Sanderson’s Oathbringers. 4 nutty bars, a bag of Cheetos and McDonalds… (I don’t know why I eat like a teenager when I travel. It’s like a Pavlovian response. I get in the car and think…road trip!
Wait, is that the sun?
I know, I know–long time no hear. I’ve been head down, working on a story! (Oh, I can’t wait to tell you ALLL about it—it features one of the Kingston brothers from Alaska. His name is Ranger, and he’s all cool headed and serious until the woman he loves goes missing…more on that later!)
But,
What I did to survive…
So, how are you doing? In case you’re wondering, today is Friday.
(I know, Snowy, I get confused too.)
As a writer, the days already blur a little, especially when I’m deep in writing a book. But this has certainly been different.
There are other beings in my place of work,
All the pictures. All the excitement. All the exclamation points!
Hey friends,
This isn’t me. But it’s about how I feel after Christmas.
Ready for a nap.
Right?
So, are you digging yourself out of wrapping paper and pine needles?
But oh, what a fun season we had! All the kiddos home, and one even brought his beautiful fiancee!
Is this really the end?
Are you as freaked out as I am that this summer is nearly over? The Minnesota State Fair started over the weekend and it signals The End.
(these are my sons, hanging out last year at their favorite food stand! (okay, not really, but they had to try it!))
The End of corvette rides with the top down to get ice cream.
I just love these guys…
Hey friends!
I can admit, I might be a little biased, but after spending a week with these rascals, I am feeling blessed to be their mother. (and wife–hubs went with us. Hated to leave him behind. He carried stuff. And he’s rather fun to have around. Hard to tell, I know.)
These men remind me why I write about families.
And the winner is …
