And then this happened…

Rel Mollet Books, Family

I know – it’s been a couple weeks since we last chatted. I was over in Greece, taking a nice vacation upon the deep blue Aegean waters. (if you didn’t see the pictures, head over to my personal Facebook page! Lots of goodies there).

My daughter, (who you heard from last week), jokes that whenever we leave (and she watches our dogs), epic plagues appear. Last year it was hornets and a couple mice!

This year…we came home to an epic flood.

My husband had kicked off his flipflops and gone upstairs to our kitchen…and I heard…”Oh no.” He was standing the carpet in front of the fridge. Our soggy carpet in front of the fridge.

“Oh no…what?” I asked and half way up the stairs, I could smell it.

Mold. The stink of standing water. And then…I spotted our buckling hardwood floors.

Our refrigerator, just because it could, sprung a leak in the water line and for two weeks had been seeping into our flooring, our subflooring, our basement ceiling, our walls and downstairs carpet.

In other words…all our flooring and walls destroyed.

The mitigation team is here right now…

And apparently, this is only stage one. Stage two is destruction of our walls and ceilings. Stage 3 is the rebuild. I said – “Um, we’re having a graduation party next May. Do you think it’ll be finished?”

No promises. Oy vey.

That’s it. I’m going to Florida. 😊

I need some good news…

And you gave it to me in the form of this lovely orange Best-seller tag!

Thank you for picking up Steinbeck, and for your kind reviews!

There are too many favorites! I love this one. 😊

I had to chuckle at one reviewer who (rightly) said – “I’m ready for Alan Martin to be caught!” Yeah, me too. Which I why, next summer, (spoiler alert!) I’m releasing a 4 book series called The Hunt for Alan Martin. 😊

Anywhoo…your kind words are sort of putting a bandaid on the gaping wound of my flood.

Thanks.

P.S. If you’re an ebook reader, but aren’t in Kindle Unlimited, Steinbeck goes up to full price on Friday. Grab him now, while he’s only $4.99. 😊
