My late night tragedy…

Rel Mollet Books, Family

How did your week go?

Mine…well, it started well. I escaped with my grandkids for a couple nights at the Hilton by SeaWorld in Orlando — and oh, we had fun. I did absolutely nothing productive (although I feel like playing with my grandkids counts as super productive!) Pool time, sunshine, grandkids splashing around, and me parked in a lounge chair trying to read (and working really, really hard not thinking about my next book!). (To be clear, their parents and my hubs was with me, so I didn’t let them into the pool alone!)

I came home with a full heart.

The only problem with a getaway like that is… you come home behind.

So. I did what any reasonable author does. I stayed up late. Very late. Story-writing-at-midnight late. The kind of late where the house is quiet and the words are finally flowing and the coffee is hot and everything feels magical…

…right up until the moment I knocked that coffee straight onto my keyboard.

And I mean onto. The keys saturated, turning sticky. The keyboard glitching.

Yikes.

So, I went to bed, (pulling a reasonable, “I’ll think about that tomorrow” Scarlett O’Hara).

By morning, the coffee had dried, (yes, yes, of course I tried to wipe it down before I went to bed…but alas…)

What followed was a bit of a mechanical experiment where I took all the keys off and attempted to clean the keyboard.

I even used cleanser. Apparently, however, the cleanser I used only made the plastic inside swell, and well any hope of recovery died….

The verdict? The keyboard did not make it.

My old keyboard has since been resurrected from the closet (bless it), and again I am pounding the keys, catching up on my new story, coffee at a safe distance.

But I really loved that cute little pink keyboard. *sigh*

Oh, and while I was away…THIS book launched!

Writing with Tari Faris has been one of the great joys of my career, and bringing Nimue and Liam to life together — set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Grand Canyon — has been a dream. A woman hiding from the Russian mob. A ranger who buried his heart a year ago. Flash floods, mobsters, a hidden treasure… and two people who really, really shouldn’t fall for each other. (They fall for each other. 😊)

If you haven’t grabbed your copy of Over the Edge yet, this is your moment.

And the reviews — honestly, they’ve made me tear up at my (salvaged) keyboard. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for taking the time to leave them. Reviews are a reader’s greatest gift to an author, and you have been so generous.

Here’s what a few of you said:

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ “This is the summer series! Judge the book by this cover for the incredible descriptive scenery, adventure, danger and the ranger team. Warren and Faris collab excels expectations and deserves a spot on your TBR list.” – Kim H, Amazon

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ “Over the Edge is a brilliantly written story that grips you from the very beginning and doesn’t let go. I genuinely didn’t want to put it down. The characters are engaging, the imagery is breathtaking, and more than once, I felt like I was standing on the edge right alongside them.” – Talita, Goodreads

Thank you. 🥹

If you’ve been on the fence about EAST (Book 2 in The Hunt for Alan Martin series), the clock is ticking! The launch price goes away Monday, and it’s going up to $9.99. Grab it now while you still can — Britta and Colt’s story is one I’m so proud of, and I don’t want you to miss it at the best price.

Alright, friends — my coffee is in a very safe location today (far, far from the keyboard), and my characters are calling. Time to get back to the story.

Thank you for being the kind of readers who make the late nights, the spilled coffee, and the keyboard sacrifices completely, utterly worth it.

Have a beautiful weekend!
