What happened to my brains?

Rel Mollet Books, Family, Travel

Meet my granddaughter Jojo.

Wrapped in a blanket. Cookie in each hand. Hot drink at her elbow. Staring into the middle distance like she has seen things no toddler should see.

This was me. For a week.

I’m not saying jet lag from the Southern Hemisphere is brutal, but I am saying I fully understood Jojo’s survival strategy on a deeply personal level. Blanket? Mandatory. Snacks? Non-negotiable. That expression on her face — the one that says my eyes are open but my brain has not yet booted up? That was me at dinner. That was me at 3am when I was inexplicably wide awake doing absolutely nothing productive. That was me in the grocery store, standing in the cereal aisle, holding a box of Cheerios like I’d never seen one before.

My body had no idea what time it was. My brain had given up trying to figure it out. We were all just… along for the ride.

Jet lag, friends. It’s not for quitters.

Because here’s the thing — I just spent time in New Zealand and Australia, and my brain completely fell out of my head. I stopped plotting. I stopped planning. I just… walked around being absolutely gobsmacked by the beauty of it all. Like someone turned up the saturation on real life and forgot to turn it back down.

Highly recommend. Zero regrets.

But here’s what happened while I was on my hobbit journey:

EAST dropped.🎉

Skeet and Chloe’s story — fake honeymoon, danger they didn’t sign up for, feelings neither of them will admit — is out in the world, and I’m so so thankful for the kind reviews!

BTW, If you’ve read it and loved it, this is me, gently grabbing you by the shoulders: it needs your review love. Even a few sentences on Amazon makes a huge difference in helping new readers find it — and it means everything to this author who poured herself into every page.

I loved writing Skeet and Chloe so much. And good news — SOUTH is coming in August, set in Australia. (Yes, I researched it in person. Tough job. I’d do it again.) Stay tuned. 😉

And dropping next Tuesday! Over the Edge!

Search and rescue ranger Nimue has spent her whole life being the steady one — the sister who holds it together while everyone else falls apart. But when a dangerous rescue operation pulls her into the crosshairs of something far bigger than a missing hiker, steady might not be enough to save her. Over the Edge ties directly into the Hunt for Alan Martin storyline AND brings back Nimue, sister of Emberly from the MN Kingstons. So if you’ve been following along, the worlds are about to collide in the best possible way.

Grab it at the Launch price on all the retailer platforms (or preorder on Amazon!)

Oh, and my assistant also fell off the map — but in her defense, she was deep in the trenches editing Don’t Cross the Blue Line, so we’ll call it even. We both resurfaced around the same time, slightly dazed, blinking in the sunlight. (By the way, you can preorder Blue Line here)

But we are BACK. Summer has started. Things are happening.

I came back to a brand new building project – pictures drop Friday! And while I was in Australia, I quietly brainstormed a super secret new series that I cannot wait to tell you about. I think you’ll love it!

Thank you for going on this journey with me — in my stories, and in real life. You are the best travel companions a girl could ask for.

See you Friday — with a FREE book! 🎁

Warmly,

P.S. – A few of the photos from the trip:
