Heads up for the Great Pumpkin!

Rel Mollet Books, Family, Good Stuff

Happy Great Pumpkin weekend!

When I was a kid, Halloween was a sort of epic event where my father took us trick-or-treating and we played the game of how much candy we could get. (My mother then rationed out our candy for months—one piece in our lunch. Just to keep us from full out gluttony. Thanks, Mom).

We didn’t do much trick or treating with our kids—mostly because we lived in Russia, and because our son was born on October 31st and we opted for his birthday party.

(this guy—gotta love that face!)

One tradition we continued to love was the annual pumpkin carve. Last weekend I headed down to my daughter’s house to spend it with Bubby. We chose pumpkins from the patch, went through a corn maze, then came home and carved pumpkins.

It’s still sort of magical to see the lights glowing on the steps. For me, it’s the ignition of the holiday season. My daughter calls it Christmas Pregame. (I love my granddaughter’s magical expression here!)

This year, she’s sorta right because it’s the launch of all sort of goodies from Susan May Warren Fiction.

Here’s what’s happening.

First, on Nov 6, Right Here Waiting, the final book in the rebooted Deep Haven series hits the shelves. It’s such a wonderful story – an updated You’ve Got Mail story set in the North. Read the blurb here…and click on the cover for all the preorder deets (It’s on sale now!)

Then…the epic conclusion to the Rembrandt Stone series – Heart of Stone comes out (Nov 23rd!!) It was so fun to put out this entire series in a year, and I can’t wait for your thoughts on the last book of the series. I loved writing this series—it stretched me as a writer, and it was a blast to brainstorm and collaborate with the amazing James L. Rubart and my son, David. There’s an entire podcast devoted to Rem—I listened to it, and might have gotten a big head. (And then the dogs tracked mud through the house and I was scrubbing the floor….so, reality.)

Heart of Stone: A Time Travel Thriller (The True Lies of Rembrandt Stone Book 6) by [David James Warren]

But wait—that’s not all.

I was travelling with some friends in June to Deep Haven and one of them said…I wonder how the Christiansen Family is doing.

Me too. So I thought I’d find out….and thus was born Have Yourself a Christiansen Christmas! It’s a catch up with your favorite small town family. One of my pre-readers said this about the book:

Have Yourself a Christiansen Christmas is the family reunion you’ve been waiting for! It has all the warmth, humor, and drama you expect from Susan May Warren and more. It’s a heart-tugging conclusion to the Christiansen series.
