What’s for dinner, and who is showing up?

Rel Mollet Books, Family, Food and Drink

I started writing a new book this week. I’m two chapters in and I’m already staying up late at night thinking through all the exciting things that are going to happen. I love the thrill of discovering new characters and taking them on a journey. I usually have everything all plotted out before I start but often there are blank spaces and I love to see how God fills those blanks—and the entire story—with truth. The theme of this particular series is the hymn On Christ the Solid Rock I Stand. This particular story has the theme of faith. How do we hold on during dark times? I can’t wait to see how these characters grapple with this question. So far one of them has nearly drowned in a river and the other one has been ambushed by a villain, so it’s starting out well, IMHO.

In the meantime, thank you to everyone who answered the poll last week about what book you’d like me to write. We had a fantastic response. Here’s a graphic of the breakdown.

So, as you can see the grand winner is Ford and Scarlett. (With Hud and Iris close behind!) Oh, I cannot wait to show you what I’m cooking up for them. Thank you for playing along!

Ford and Scarlett

The winner of the $20 gift card is: Anabella Schofield! (My team will be in touch with you.)

Okay, so as I’m plotting this Christmas story, I have ONE more question…(okay, there might be more later). But, if you could have ONE character from the previous 94 novels (okay, probably NOT the historical ones, as that would be tough) appear in the book, as a surprise, who would it be? You’ll have to write the name in this form, as I can’t list every single character. But, I’ll randomly choose, and the winner will get a $20 gift card to Amazon. And, they’ll have their character appear.

So, enough fun and games. Here’s the big question–what’s for dinner tonight? We’re changing it up tonight for a larger dinner with party friends, and having THIS AMAZING PASTA dish, made with Sicilian pistachio pesto…

And Involtini–pistachio crusted meat rollups.

(Just to be clear, I’m not the cook in the family. 😃 I show up and eat. That’s my role.)

And tomorrow, we go sailing.

Have a great weekend, and thank you for reading Iris (who is still riding in the top ten in Christian Suspense at Amazon! Whoot!)

Warmly,

P.S. The Montana Fire series is on sale, exclusively in my SMWF store for ONE MORE WEEK ONLY. Just a head’s up. Don’t miss this epic series…you could read one book a month and be done in time for the (ahem, don’t tell anyone) super-secret Montana Fire series that might be coming out next summer. Just sayin’….
