Never Mind the Toes!

Rel Mollet Books, Family, On Writing

I’m coming to you today from sunny Arizona! It’s a little bit crazy but I’m wearing sandals again. I clearly need a pedicure.

I’m hanging out with my business partner and good friend Lindsay Harrel. If you haven’t read her books, check out her website here. Right now, we’re planning all the fun things that we’re going to do over at Sunrise Publishing next year.

It’s been about four years since I’ve been back in Arizona and I just love the beautiful mountains that surround the city. And at night, the sky is studded with stars. It reminds me of the cover that I created for The Homecoming of Logan Thorne.

I love this story about the man behind the scenes. (If you haven’t read his story, it’s very “I’ll be home for Christmas” with a twist!) Logan’s story had been sitting around in my heart for quite a while and I longed to turn it into an audiobook, but it got set on the back burner in favor of the Minnesota Marshalls. (They’re so bossy! They want to be the center of everything!)

Then, I found this amazing audio program where I could design a voice (and yes, it’s an AI generated voice, but it’s an awesome voice) specifically for a character. So I tweaked and fiddled and finally created the perfect voice for Logan Thorne. (And I created a female voice for Tessa too.) Then I spent more late nights tweaking the voice and managed to create (what I consider) a pretty awesome audiobook! Yes, it’s still AI generated but wow, I was impressed. (BTW, I still use live narrators for some of my bigger books, but since this was a smaller one I thought it would be a great way to get it into your hands at a much cheaper price.) If you have already read the story I really think you’re going to love hearing it voiced. It really brings some new magic to the story. (And I love, love, love Logan’s voice. Gives a whole new meaning to “Hot Santa.”)

And this is another one of the Christmas surprises that I have for you this season! Right now you can get the ebook and the audiobook in a bundle on the store for a crazy low price of $7.99! I think it would be a great activity while you’re cleaning the house for Christmas or making Christmas cookies or even going for a beautiful walk in gorgeous Arizona.

By the way, if you’re wondering where The Homecoming of Logan Thorn fits into the series lineup, here is a cool graphic. (But really you can read it at any point in the series.)

In the meantime, I’m off to get a pedicure. These toes need help!

Have a great weekend and stay warm.

With love,

P.S. Do you want to know what I’m reading? I’m reading this amazing new book by Ronnie kendig and Steffani Webb, CHAOS. Fast-paced and exciting, it features a military war dog and a hero with the Scottish brogue. I can’t wait for you to hear the audiobook, but until then, pick up the ebook on sale this week at our Sunrise Shop!

Buckle up for an edge-of-your-seat trek through the dangerous jungles of the Philippines in this enemies to more, forced proximity, alpha hero, sunshine versus grumpy romantic thriller!
When Rio Silva is told her aunt and uncle are missing in a Philippine rainforest, she knows there is only one answer to finding them: the retired military working dog her dad entrusted to her. Chaos, however, has a mind of her own, a lot like Rio. Worse, she’ll have to trust arrogant and bossy former Army Ranger, Cathal McGowan if she hopes to get them back.
The last thing Cathal McGowan needs is to be shackled with a young, pretty teacher with no combat experience as he leads them into the darkness of the rainforest. But she has heart—he’ll give her that. And he has the experience she needs to rescue her family.
Putting everything on the line, Rio and Cathal struggle to navigate the terrain, as well as their emerging feelings for each other. But the closer they get to mission success, the more things aren’t adding up, including who might be behind the disappearance. It’s not long before they realize the rainforest holds greater perils than deadly vipers…and the biggest danger of all might be their hearts.
