My secret for a great Friday night treat!

Rel Mollet Books, Family, Food and Drink

First A GIGANTIC (yes, shouting) thank you for everyone who helped push Iris to get the little orange tag on Amazon!

I am loving what readers are saying!

Now…for the winner of our fun game! Here are the questions and answers:

  • While in Paris, Iris enjoys a conversation on a balcony with someone in her family. Who is it?
    • Answer: Her father
  • What are they drinking? (be specific)
    • Answer: Wine (Côtes du Rhône chard)
  • Someone comes outside and brings with him/her something to eat. Who is it and what do they bring?
    • Answer: Shae, Manchego cheese and bread

I’m SOOOO impressed with all the entries—and all the right answers!! Well done!

And the winner, who will get a $50 gift card from Amazon, is (in a random number generator drawing): Wyvonne Fly

We’ll play this game again, for sure!!

By the way, you might be curious about my pick of wine and cheese. The wine is a varietal that Hubs and I found while visiting the Loire Valley in France two years ago. And Manchego mild cheese pairs very well with both whites and reds but specifically brings out a smooth flavor after the piquant, buttery taste of a Chardonnay. A Côtes du Rhône chard is a little on the sweet side, so it also tames the sweet as well. A wonderful pre-dinner wine. (Or, sundowner, on a roof in Paris!)

We are big charcuterie board people—I make one every Friday night. And one of my recent additions is whipped Brie with honey. It’s delish—I bring the Brie to room temperature and then I whip it in a food processor until smooth. I garnish it with a nice pool of honey and a sprig of rosemary. My husband loves Triscuits so we’re a little boring but I serve it with Rosemary Triscuits, although crostini would also work. If you want to jazz up your board this is a great addition.

So I’m curious. What Friday night traditions do you have? Do you celebrate the end of the week?

Thank you once again for reading! And for making the Minnesota Marshalls family series such a success. I hope you are enjoying Iris and Hud! Have a fantastic weekend!

Warmly,

P.S. If you haven’t picked up the incredible deal on the Montana Fire series you can check that out here. It’s going for another week or two but we’ll definitely end by the end of August. That’s nine books at 50% off! An unheard of deal only available at the Susan May Warren Fiction store!
