Mom! It’s Cold Outside!

Rel Mollet Books, Family

Hello friends,

It’s Christmas week, and I have a VERY SPECIAL GIFT for you coming Friday. Make sure you check back here!

I wanted to update you on the happenings here before then.

Because, there was this last week:

In case you can’t hear them, that’s Mitty and Jubal saying, “Mom, it’s Cold Outside!”

I let them in.

And then we drove to Florida.

Lest you think that was an extreme reaction to an oncoming blizzard, well, yes, maybe. But I also had my reasons. Namely this:

My husband has always had a lifelong dream to see the amazing Andrea Bocelli in concert, so when I heard he was going to be in Miami right before Christmas, I said…Bam! Christmas Present for the Hubs!

We had an amazing time.

And then we came home (to our Florida house) and put up a tree.

Because, ahem, it’s COLD up in Minnesota! (and we’re spending Christmas with our Florida-based children. 😊)

In truth, I LOVE a good blizzard, at least when we’re all home safe and tucked in and a fire is crackling in the hearth, and I’m armed with plenty of hot cocoa and supplies. And because of that, I miss the snow for Christmas. It feels so weird to walk around seeing Christmas lights on palm trees. (But, why not? Put up those lights!)

So, to get me back in the mood for Christmas, I am re-reading one of my favorite books –Baby, It’s Cold Outside. One of my few, but favorite historical novels, it’s set in post WW 2 and is about what happens when a blizzard hits a small town, and strangers descend on a woman who refuses to celebrate Christmas. It’s inspired by the book, The Mitten, and it has one of my favorite ever endings.

I love this review from an Amazon reader:

(Thank you, nameless Kindle Customer!)

It’s now available in e-book, print and hardcover in the SMWF store—and this week, it’s on sale! Just in case you, too, need to curl up with a good blizzard.

In fact, just in case you need a BIG dose of Christmas…I’ve put all my Christmas books on sale until the 26th.

Now you don’t have to BE in a blizzard to enjoy one. 😊

Stay tuned for FRIDAY and the Special Surprise coming your way!

Until then, shop, bake and read. (Not necessarily in that order!)

Warmly,

Susie May
