It’s May Makeover Month (I’ll bet you didn’t realize that  ). Hubs LOVES this month. He can’t wait for me to hand him the weekly DIY list, and to work on my thousands of “better get them done before we go back to Minnesota because we’ve been procrastinating with walks on the beach and dives in the convertible for the past three months” TO DO items.
Like the backsplash. And the drilling of a new well (I didn’t get any pictures), and the installation of our water filtration system in the house (not super glamorous). And THIS one from last weekend, when the temps soared to a balmy 92 ˚F. I dunno why, but I got this crazy idea to paint the garage door. My bestie, who lives in FL, said, “Florida garages are white!” Um, NOT FOR THIS GIRL. I just love a brown garage door…so, Hubs took off all the doors, and while the dogs watched, I cleaned and painted them. And ta-dah!
I think it looks fantastic. One more week of DIYs and then we’re headed to the Keys for our annual family vacay. On the list this week: Hooking up the ice-maker to the filtration system, changing the tires of our SUV, cleaning the garage (that’s his FAVORITE) and setting up the Hippo in the backyard. I bet you’re wondering what that last one is. Pictures to come! In the meantime…I’m diving into a brand new book this week! It’s the first in a family series, coming out in 2025… (You may have met the characters briefly in One Last Shot. I’ll just leave that there for you to speculate…But I’ll give you this hint. The heroes might all be named after famous authors. Like Jack. And Conrad. And Doyle. And Steinbeck…) I spent last week, while recovering from my post-NYC cold, working on the series, their bios, and the epic storyline. I love jumping into a new series—it’s sort of like that time I went skydiving. Scary but exhilarating. (Just in case you think I’m kidding…here you go. Be aware, the video is ooooold. In the meantime, here are a couple things happening down here on terra firma… 1. The One Last Chance ebook is out in the WILD!
