Okay, it’s done. Shopping. Pies. Rolls.
We. Are. Ready.
And so, I had a little free time this weekend and I binge-watched House of David, Season 2.

Oh, it’s GOOD. SO good. I loved how the showrunners brought in David’s devotion to God, along with his warrior character. (There was one scene in episode 7 I had to rewind and watch over and over!)
Anyhoo…it made me think a lot about the posture of gratitude. David is so aware of God’s hand in his life. He never wavers.
I’d like to be a gal who never wavers. I think I’m getting closer every year. But the posture of gratitude is a big part of that. And I’ve learned something over the years… it’s not a feeling. It’s a weapon.
When despair whispers that everything is falling apart, gratitude grabs hold of truth and refuses to let go. It shifts our gaze from the gaping hole of what’s missing to the solid ground of what remains—and more importantly, to Who remains.
Because gratitude isn’t just about counting blessings. It’s about acknowledging the Blesser. It’s a declaration that says, “God, you are good. All the time. And I trust you.”
And that declaration? It changes everything.
It builds hope when hope feels foolish. It creates resilience when we want to quit. It anchors our hearts in the unchanging character of God rather than the shifting sand of our circumstances.
Gratitude, you see, is faith with its eyes wide open. It’s choosing to believe that God is at work even when we can’t trace His hand. It’s thanking Him for the outcome before we see it, because we know His character even when we don’t know His plan.
So today, whatever chapter you’re living through—whether it feels like a romantic comedy or a dark night of the soul—try this: Thank Him anyway. Not because everything is fine, but because He is faithful.
And you too, will become a warrior, like David. Bam, done. (Seriously, watch the show. It’s so good!)
Imma keep it short today because it’s a busy week. BUT, I didn’t want you to miss the last week of the EPIC THANKSGIVING TRAVEL-WORTHY AUDIO BOOK SALE.
