What we did instead…

Rel Mollet Books, Family, Remodeling

Let’s just talk about this week.

First…the Vikings. THE VIKINGS.

We turned the game off at the top of the 4th Quarter and instead did THIS:

Tiling the Bathroom.

The bathroom is coming along…we won’t get it done before our trip North, but hopefully before the Great Exodus where our friends and family flee the North and visit us on our little island.

And then, after we finished the tiling project for the day, we watched Apple TV’s The Last Frontier. (Warning: It does have a few f-bombs, no skin, although the morals are a little loose).

It SHOULD be my kind of show – a plane crash in the Alaska wilderness (yes, you have my attention) a US Marshall who has to track them down, who has his own problems (yes, yes…) And a spy plot that threads through it all. (I’m in! Hand me the remote!)

Except. Hubs and I found ourselves yelling at the television (so there was some exercise there, which is always a good thing) because of the stupid, unmotivated choices the characters made. I can believe nearly anything if I understand the motivation, right?

Hence, why even if my characters do stupid things, I make sure they have a good reason for it. Which was why creating my next book, Track of Courage, was such a challenge. Why would a guy with a bum leg trek out into the dark woods to save his rambunctious dog?

Oh, wait, did I mention there’s a girl involved?

And she’s in trouble?

You decide for yourself…did I nail the motivation? Track of Courage drops on January 6, 2026…so a great (and snowy!) way to start your new year of reading. 😊

Don’t want to wait? How about another Christmas Classic?

I mentioned the great sale on All I Want for Christmas in the last note – and yes, it’s still on sale.

But maybe you want something more nostalgic…the number one “re-read” that my reader friends mention over the Christmas season is Baby, It’s Cold Outside. It’s a story about a woman who’s lost everything…and yet discovers Christmas joy again. It has one of my favorite endings I’ve ever written. 😊

So, let’s add this to the Epic Holiday Sale on the Susan May Warren Store so you can cuddle up like Jojo with a good book!

Get 20% the Hardcover or the Print/Ebook bundle!

I know this is a long note—but I didn’t want to end this before mentioning the FREE book in the P.S. 😊

Have a beautiful weekend! Go read something wonderful!

XO!

P.S. I know you have all met Tari Faris. She’s the talented author I’m working with on an epic new summer series! And who I worked with on her beautiful Home to Heritage series.

What? You haven’t read any Home to Heritage books yet? Let’s fix that!
How about getting started with this FREEBIE! I think you’ll love Tari’s voice, and her world (It reminds me a lot of Deep Haven!) A fun, quick, beautiful read. Enjoy!
