It’s getting a little messy!

Rel Mollet Books, Remodeling

It’s happening!

We broke ground on our home addition (my new office!) — and by “broke ground” I mean a very large machine showed up, made a lot of noise, and now I have a pile of gravel and some lumber and am desperately holding onto the hope that’s is going to be fabulous. (It’s also what I tell myself when the dogs come into the house covered in gray sand. They love to sleep on the mound!)

But I get it – every great story starts ugly. Chapter One is always a mess. I of all people should know that. (Speaking from the messy start of a novel I’m currently writing. 😊)

Here’s what’s not messy…

Meet the cool book I wrote with Tari Faris.

I love this story! It’s set in the Grand Canyon, it’s Book 1 in the brand-new Summer Rangers series, and it stars someone you already know and love — Nimue Hart, Emberly’s younger sister from the MN Kingston’s series.

What series? Oh, you know – this one:

I’m so happy that Nimue finally gets her own story.

Here’s the setup: Nimue is living alone in a converted mint-green city bus parked at the edge of the Grand Canyon’s North Rim, hiding from the Russian Bratva who very much want her dead. She has three computer monitors, a satellite dish she named Big Bertha, and oh, she misses home. She ran to keep the people she loves safe. It’s the right call. She hates it with every fiber of her being.

Enter: Liam Kingsley. Park ranger. Dark curls. Climbing gear on his belt because he’s a ranger. And he takes his role in the park Very Seriously. As in—who is this woman parked by the canyon, and what’s with all this gear?

Thing is – Liam is carrying his own wreckage — a climbing accident he can’t stop replaying, a guilt that sends him running through thin canyon every morning. He’s a good man trying to figure out if he gets to be one again.

And maybe he does, because Nimue is in trouble…and it’s about to come calling.

A little peek…

Up close, he was annoyingly handsome, dark curls tousled from the wind and touched with gold where the morning sun hit them. All strong jaw and quiet intensity, solidly built, with climbing gear hanging from his belt as if rappelling down cliff faces was just another Tuesday. Those penetrating blue eyes held the kind of intensity that probably made lost hikers feel instantly safer — and made smart women like Nimue want to run before they did something stupid.
Like trust him.
Yeah, someone less disciplined might be tempted to drown in those deep-blue eyes. But not her.
…Great. If she’d thought this ranger’s intense stare had been dangerous, the smile that lit up his face was downright lethal. 😄

There’s danger lurking around every ponderosa pine. There’s action that will have you holding your breath. And there’s a delicious slow-burn romance that I think you’ll love.

Nimue fans — she was worth waiting for. I promise.

Now. While we’re talking about the Kingstons…

Austen’s audiobook is LIVE in the Susan May Warren Store! — and it is currently 30% off the launch price. If you’ve been waiting to meet her, (in the amazing voices of Adam and Laura, my uber talented narrators) now is your moment!

Or — grab the entire Minnesota Kingston’s series (except Steinbeck, who we’re still waiting for) for 50% off!

Thank you for being here. For reading. For the emails and the reviews and the messages that make me feel like all the hours staring at a blinking cursor were actually worth it.

Now I’m going to go stare at my gravel pile and dream big dreams.

I love you, friends. Happy reading!
