Okay, seriously? We leave Minnesota and the next day they get a blizzard? I missed the magic of the flurries and wind while curled up in front of my fireplace reading a book? (I also missed the grumbles of my husband as he bundled up to plow the driveway so maybe not such a bad thing…?)
Apparently, every state besides Minnesota had snow. Here’s a picture of snow we discovered in southern Iowa. Hoarders. Whatevs.

Yes, we made it to Florida—and the twenty-three hour trip sailed by. Our dogs (who love to travel) snoozed their way through seven states, possibly lulled by the amazing voice of my narrator, Adam Gold, as we listened to the first two books of the Minnesota Marshalls series. Oooh, he has some magic in his voice, the way he can bring characters to life! I wrote these books and have read them over and over, and still found them completely spellbinding as Adam brought them to life.
And…great, exciting news—the audiobook of CREED, book 5 in the Minnesota Marshalls series, is available today in the Susan May Warren Store! It took a little bit longer to bring him to life, and he’s not available in Audible or other retailers yet (so, exclusive to the SMWF store!) but, I dunno about you, I’m totally going to listen to Creed and his amazing adventures saving a princess this weekend.

Honestly, like any good Minnesotan, I love snow. (And yes, we spend the winter in Florida, but that is because I love my husband who is NOT a Minnesotan…) I love the grace of white upon the land, and the excuse to bundle up in a blanket and…read.
So, because I’m a little jealous (and I did pull up a YouTube video of snow falling and just watched it for a while—yeah, I know. But you can’t take Minnesota out of the girl, sorry…), I’m going to give you some hot releases that might make for some delicious reading this weekend.
Chaos, This book is by Ronie Kendig (who you all know I love) and a co-author, Steffani Webb. It’s a fast-paced, compelling story featuring a K-9 former military war dog, and his handler, Rio Silva. Unfortunately, she has to trust a bossy Scot named Cathal in order to rescue the people she loves. There is so much to love about this story, the banter is fantastic, the descriptions real, the plot riveting. I think you’ll enjoy it.
Rescuing You, by Robin Patchen. This book JUST came out, and right now it’s only $2.99! It’s a Susie May style story, with a CIA Agent who has to rescue the woman he loves by sneaking into Iraq. One reviewer said, “This book is a high octane, international, fast paced thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat.” So yeah, you know what I’ll be reading this weekend.
The Way you Love Me, by Michelle Sass Aleckson. Contemporary romance. Your heart will love this story of a man looking for a second chance and a home for his daughter in the town of DEEP HAVEN! Yes, another cozy, heart-warming read set in northern MN, and I just loved this book. Get yourself a cup of cocoa, build that fire and dive into a story that you won’t put down. It’s only available in the Sunrise Shop (but super easy to order and get sent to your kindle or reader app) and it’s only $4.99 right now! So, if you’re not a thriller person…I think you’ll love this delightful book by one of my favorite new authors.
That’s it. I’ve been crazy writing all week–wrote 32K words (that’s 128 pages!) working furiously to finish this novel before I go BACK to snow in a couple weeks to hang out with my daughter and her new baby (not here yet…but soon). If I finish my word count today, I’m going out tonight for seafood!
