Okay, the truth is, the Warren clan likes to have fun. We are loud, we play games, we laugh a lot and we know how to have a good time.
We’re on vacation right now (pix to come!) but to kick it off, we had an epic Gender Reveal party. So fun to celebrate an upcoming grandchild with our family.
But the next day…well..

Sheesh, it looks like a post-Oscar party!
Okay, in truth, this is the result of a tornado that passed over our neighborhood. (No one was hurt, PTL!) But we had to laugh that it looked like the aftermath of a celebrity bash!
But that’s how life is, right? One moment it’s sunny, the next you have teddy bears scattered around the yard.
Sort of like the chaos that happens to Austen when she goes diving in Caribbean…one moment it’s sunny and gorgeous, the next…well, disaster.
This is sort of the theme of this book…what do you do when life feels out of control? When it goes from sunny to dark? How do you hang on in a churning sea?
Austen, my heroine, is a strong Christian, even in the midst of her own turmoil, and I love these words she says to Declan, during their chaos: “Just because you land in the belly of a whale doesn’t mean that God isn’t in the middle of rescuing you.”
And later she says: “Either we trust that God is good and that he has a plan or we go our own way and try to figure it out ourselves.”
I love her steadfast faith…but also her own transformation as she sees God’s faithfulness. It’s a book of high adventure, but also of seeing God in the midst of the chaos.
I know this is coming at you on a Thursday, but today is the Last Day to get Austen at the discounted price on the SMWF store, and other retailers. She lands on Amazon tonight at midnight (so if you want her for the epic weekend, grab her at the preorder price today!)

Oh! And I’m so sorry—I meant to send this to you first, but my newsletter didn’t quite make it past all the pool time with the grandchildren on Tuesday…
Check out my newest cover!

I can’t wait for Track of Courage, a story about a SAR dog and his handler, Dawson Mulligan (if you know you know!) More on that soon – but check out the preorder here! (The cheapest place to get it is on the Baker Book House site – but you can preorder at Amazon too.)
Until next week – Happy Independence Weekend! I hope you enjoy time with your family, or friends. I’m so grateful for our country, despite its challenges. Having lived all over the world, and seeing so many beautiful places, I still believe America is a God-given gift and I’m grateful for those who have fought for our freedoms.
Have a beautiful weekend!
